Stonk Rider privacy policy

This policy explains what information Stonk Rider processes when you browse the site, play a track, submit a score, or post a rider comment.

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Information we process

Game and leaderboard activity

When a run ends, the site may record the selected ticker and period, score, duration, virtual dollars, completion or crash status, and submission time. These records support aggregate statistics, daily challenges, track rankings, and leaderboard features. They describe activity inside the game and do not represent a real brokerage account, security trade, or financial transaction.

Comments you choose to publish

If you submit a track note or daily challenge comment, we process the display name and message you provide together with the relevant track context and submission time. Comments are public. Do not include email addresses, phone numbers, account details, financial information, or other sensitive personal data in a comment.

Technical and analytics data

The site uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand page visits, device and browser characteristics, approximate location, navigation, interaction patterns, and technical performance. These services may use cookies or similar browser technologies according to their own privacy terms. Server infrastructure may also process ordinary request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp for security and reliable delivery.

How information is used

We use collected information to operate the game, save scores, display comments, calculate aggregate activity, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, evaluate interface changes, and improve the experience across desktop and mobile devices. We may remove spam, unsafe content, manipulation attempts, or records that undermine leaderboard integrity.

Services that receive data

Neon database

Game events, leaderboard records, and rider comments may be stored in a Neon-hosted PostgreSQL database. Neon processes this information as an infrastructure provider.

Market data providers

Search and playable tracks rely on historical market information obtained from Yahoo Finance endpoints. Search terms and ticker requests may be sent through the Stonk Rider server to retrieve available symbols and price history. Market data is used to create game terrain and is not used to provide investment advice.

Analytics providers

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity process usage information under their respective terms. Browser privacy tools, content blockers, and cookie controls may limit some analytics collection without preventing the core game from loading.

Cookies and local browser storage

Analytics providers may set cookies. The game may also use browser storage for interface preferences or temporary state. You can clear or block this data using your browser settings. Blocking optional storage may reduce analytics or reset preferences, but the primary game should remain accessible where technically possible.

Retention and security

Records are retained for as long as they remain useful for game operation, historical rankings, moderation, security, and service improvement. We use reasonable technical measures to protect stored information, but no internet service or database can guarantee absolute security. Public comments and leaderboard entries should therefore be submitted without sensitive information.

Your choices

You can avoid posting comments, use a non-identifying display name, block analytics scripts, clear browser storage, or stop using the service. Requests concerning a specific public comment should identify the track, displayed name, approximate submission time, and comment text so the record can be located without collecting unnecessary additional information.

Children and international visitors

Stonk Rider is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you are not old enough to consent to online data processing where you live, use the site only with permission from a parent or guardian. Information may be processed in countries where our infrastructure providers operate, and local data protection rules may differ from those in your location.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as features, providers, or legal requirements change. The revision date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to later activity.
